Installing a Processor and
Redundant Processor Power Module
The ProLiant 6000 is capable of supporting up to four processors and four
redundant processor power modules.
NOTE
: Be sure to keep processor terminator cards as processors are added.
The processor terminator cards can be used in the event a processor fails so
that the server will run with the remaining processors. Processor terminator
cards must be installed in all processor sockets not occupied by processors.
IMPORTANT:
You cannot mix Pentium III Xeon processors in a server that
has Pentium II Xeon processors.
CAUTION:
Handle the processor only by the ejectors and, only if
necessary, lay the processor on its back (the plastic side with the
hologram) to prevent damage to the heat pipes and fins.
CAUTION:
The redundant processor power module must be
installed before the processor. Attempting to install the processor
power module after the processor is installed could damage the
processor power module.
