If no replacement drive cage is to be installed, you must install a
blanking panel to ensure correct airflow to the server and to prevent
component damage.
9.
If no replacement drive cage is to be installed, turn on the server. See
Chapter 2, “Server Installation.”
Installing a New Drive Cage
1.
If the server is on, place it in Standby mode and disconnect the power
cord(s). See Chapter 2, “Server Installation.”
2.
Remove the left side access panel. See Chapter 3, “Server Operation.”
3.
If the new drive cage is to be installed in a previously empty bay,
remove the four screws securing the blanking panel and pull the
blanking panel away from the chassis. Retain the blanking panel and
screws for possible future use.
