Installing a Hot Plug Power Supply
The ProLiant 6000 is capable of supporting up to three power supplies. The
system power in the ProLiant 6000 Server does not have to be shut off to install
the second or third hot-plug power supply.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to
the equipment:
■
Install the power supply before connecting the power cord to
the power supply.
■
Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply
from the server.
■
Disconnect power from the server by unplugging all power
cords from either the electrical outlet or the server.
To install a new hot-plug power supply with the system power ON:
1.
Unlock and remove the power supply security bar by lifting the locking
latch
, pivoting the security bar away from the server
, and lifting the
security bar out of the toe slot
