Making Copies Using the Basic Functions
Using the Stack Bypass
To make copies on transparencies or special (heavyweight) paper stock, use the stack bypass. The
following types of paper can be copied using the stack bypass.

Standard sizes
11"x17", LGL, LTR, A3, B4, A4, B5R, A5R
●
Irregular sizes
Irregular size paper: 3 7/8" to 11 11/16" (99 mm to 297 mm) (Vertical)
7 1/2" to 17" (191 mm to 432 mm) (Horizontal)
●
Materials
Plain paper, heavyweight paper, plain 2 paper, recycled paper, colored paper, rough paper, bond
paper, transparencies, labels
●
Envelopes
COM10, Monarch, DL, ISO-B5, ISO-C5, YOUGATA 4
Manual feed settings can be made in four ways:

Placing paper in the stack bypass and specifying the size (See “Using the Stack Bypass,” on
p. 2-17.)
●
Using the stack bypass for a job in the print queue (See “Using the Stack Bypass for a Job in
the Print Queue,” on p. 2-23.)
●
Registering the stack bypass for a function in Additional Functions (See “When the Stack
Bypass is Registered for a Function in Additional Functions,” on p. 2-28.)
●
Placing paper in the stack bypass and using existing settings. (See “When Placing Paper in
the Stack Bypass and Using Existing Settings,” on p. 2-28.)
IMPORTANT
• Note the following points when using the stack bypass:
- Copy quantity: 1 to about 100 sheets (stack approximately 3/8" (10 mm high))
- Paper weight: 16 to 32-lb. bond (60 to 128 g/m
2
)
- Curl down paper before use.
- There are some types of paper stock whose copy settings meet the above specifications but cannot be
fed in the stack bypass.
NOTE
• Two-sided copying is not available when using transparencies, envelopes, labels, or heavy paper
(paper heavier than plain paper (30 to 32-lb. bond) (128 g/m
2
)).
