Making Copies Using the Basic Functions
Selecting Image Quality
You can adjust image quality to the level best suited to the quality of text or photo originals. The fol-
lowing three modes are available for adjusting image quality.

Text:
This mode is best suited for making copies from text originals.
It works well even if writing on your original is very fine, for example, pencil marks.
●
Text/Photo:
This mode is best suited for making copies from originals containing both text and photos, or
photo originals containing halftones (printed photos).
●
Photo:
This mode is best suited for photo originals composed of halftone gradations.

Place your original and press the [A] key.
The copy exposure is automatically adjusted to
the level best suited to the quality of your
original.
NOTE
• If your original is a transparency, you may not be
able to use the Automatic Exposure Control. If
this is the case, adjust the copy exposure using
the Manual Exposure Control.

Proceed to make copies in the usual way.
