3 Installing the MediaPack
This section provides information on the installation procedure for the MP-11x (refer to
'Installing the MP-'11x on page
29 ) and the MP-124 (refer to 'Installing the MP-124' on
page 36 ). For information on how to start using the gateway, refer to 'Getting Started' on
page 45 .
Caution Electrical Shock
The equipment must only be installed or serviced by qualified service personnel
3.1 Installing the MP-11x
To install the MP-11x, you need to perform the following installation steps in chronological
order:
„ Unpack the MP-11x (refer to 'Unpacking' on page 29 ).
„ Check the package contents (refer to 'Package Contents' on page 30 ).
„ Mount the MP-11x (refer to 'Mounting the MP-11x' on page 30 ).
„ Cable the MP-11x (refer to 'Cabling the MP-11x' on page 32 ).
After connecting the MP-11x to the power source, the
Ready
and
Power
LEDs on the front
panel light up green (after a self-testing period of about two minutes). Any malfunction in
the startup procedure changes the
Fail
LED to red and the
Ready
LED is turned off (for
details on the MP-11x LEDs, refer to 'MP-11x Front Panel' on page 23 ).
When you have completed the above installation steps, you are then ready to start
configuring the gateway (refer to 'Web-based Management' on page
55 ).
3.1.1 Unpacking
Follow the procedure below for unpacking the received carton in which the MP-11x is
shipped.

To unpack the MP-11x, take these 6 steps:
1.
Open the carton and remove the packing materials.
2.
Remove the MP-11x gateway from the carton.
3.
Check that there is no equipment damage.
4.
Check, retain, and process any documents.
5.
Notify AudioCodes or your local supplier of any damage or discrepancies.
6.
Retain any diskettes or CDs.
