There are variations in the structure of AAF files generated by different
Manufacturers systems. The AAF import defaults page allows you to
configure the import procedure to best suit the source AAF.

Link Dual mono events (auto zone)

Turning this on will automatically link together dual mono events during the

import. The dual mono events will be linked together using the ZONES

function so that they can easily be unlinked later.

Only import media used in event list

An AAF file may contain media which is not used within the
composition. If this “unused” media is not required this option will
import only the media which is actually used within the composition
thus saving import time.

Generate new UID’s on import

AAF import will normally use the media Unique Identifier (UID) to generate

the AudioFile UID. This means that existing media will be recognised

during subsequent AAF imports. Thus “composition only” AAF files can be

imported if the media has been previously imported.

Use physical track property if present

AAF files contain information about the physical track of each piece of
media. We have found that occasionally this can be incorrect and will
cause incorrect track placement. If Incorrect track placement is
experienced with an AAF file you should try re-importing with this
option turned off.
