Wiring
Remove AC mains power from the controller before performing wiring.
Connections to the control unit are made through the wiring card (see Figure
3-15). The wiring card is located on the front-bottom of the control unit for all
weatherproof versions and for the general purpose wall mount version (see the
“Control Unit Mounting” Section earlier in this chapter for help). For the general
purpose rack and panel mount versions, the wiring card is located on the rear of
the control unit (Figure 3-15 shows the orientation of the wiring card for general
purpose rack and panel mount versions - for all other versions, the wiring card
is 180 degrees from this view). To access the wiring card for all general purpose
versions of the control unit, unscrew the four screws on the wiring card chas-
sis cover plate. For the weatherproof versions of the control unit, first open the
front door of the weatherproof enclosure to gain access to the wiring card shield.
Remove the three screws on this shield to gain access to the wiring card.
When placing the terminal box lid on the terminal box, install the
screws and tighten evenly until all screws are in contact with the
cover. Then, while alternating screws, evenly tighten (1 or 2 turns at
a time) - using your fingers to turn the screwdriver so you can feel
the fastener hit bottom. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Any screw terminals on the wiring card not described in this section
are reserved for future use.
