The ambient temperature in the junction box should be lower than 160°F (70°C).
If you purchased the Division 2 option, the maximum ambient temperature range
is 140°F (60°C). If the ambient temperature is greater than this, consult the fac -
tory. Mount the probe and its flange to the flange on the process (Figure 3-2). A
length of threaded 3/4” pipe may be temporarily screwed to the probe flange to
support the probe as you insert it into the process. Insulate the pipe nipple with
at least 1-inch thick (2.54 cm) weatherproof insulation. If the pipe nipple is more
than 4 inches long (10.16 cm), it should be heat-traced.
Division 2 option
If you purchased the Division 2 option, follow all warnings as stated on the In-
situ, Division 2 warning label. See Figures 3-3 and 3-4 for mounting dimensions
and plumbing connections.
The Z-Purge apparatus provided by Thermox meets NFPA 496 under
the following conditions.
• You must provide a protective supply with an alarm for a loss of pressure
indication.
• Do not exceed the maximum temperature rating listed on the warning label.
• Process pressure must always be subatmospheric (vacuum).
