2.6.8 Connecting the detector to a 745/745B/746 data
module
You can connect the detector to a Waters 745/745B/746 data module using the
analog output connector on the rear panel of the detector. The analog connector
provides 2-V output that is scaled to the AU sensitivity setting and the voltage offset
setting.
Note:
To prevent oversaturation of the signal from the detector to the integrator, do
not exceed the input voltage rating of the integrator.
The analog-output signal is transmitted via the cable provided in the 2489 UV/Vis
detector startup kit. Make the connections summarized in the table below and
illustrated in the figure below:
To minimize the chance of creating a ground loop that can adversely affect
measurement, connect the shield of the cable to the chassis ground at one end only.
