Needle Up / Needle Down button
Safety instruction:
The sewing machine only moves into the correct starting and
threading position to thread the upper thread for the thread take-up lever and
needle threader when you press the
‹Needle Up / Needle Down›
button. Material
damage caused by incorrect needle position! Make sure that the needle and
thread take-up lever are always in the right starting position before threading,
changing the thread or using the threader. Failure to do this will result in material
damage to the sewing machine, which are not covered by the warranty. The
machine's threader cannot be threaded correctly and may be damaged. The
sewing machine’s seam does not look right, as the upper thread cannot be
threaded correctly into the sewing machine’s pre-tension and main tension
device.

Needle position permanently down
For many types of sewing it can be most advantageous if the needle is
permanently in the down position (for example, if a change of direction is
required, such as when sewing corners). Press the
Needle Permanently Down
button on the display. The needle position permanently down is activated when a
solid outer border is placed around the dashed inner border. The
Needle
Permanently Down
button is activated by default.
