Sewing stretch fabrics
In the case of stretch stitches, the stitch pattern varies according to the type of
fabric and the setting. The specified stitches are stretch stitches, that may vary in
terms of stitch length and stitch width.
Under certain circumstances, this results in different stitch patterns with the same
stitch and different fabrics. In the case of stretch fabrics you should always use a
W6 WERTARBEIT size 75 or 90 Super Stretch needle. Never use a jersey
needle, as a jersey needle may pull the fabric into the needle plate or cause
skipped stitches.
W6 tip
You will achieve a neat pattern if you place stabiliser under the fabric in the case
of fabrics that tend to wrinkle and between the layers of fabric when using
double-layered fabrics.
