11.3.1
Straight stitches: programs 001 and 002 /
Adjustable needle position,
standard foot,
Super Stretch 90 or 75 needle
Straight stitches are used for topstitching seams.
You can adjust the needle position to your sewing work. It can be adjusted in
program 002 continuously from the far left to far right, please see “Operating
elements” > “Variable adjustment of needle position”.
W6 note
The
centre
needle position must always be set for sewing a straight stitch using
the straight stitch presser foot.
When sewing with the standard foot, the needle position can be changed, as
required.
W6 tip
Adjust the stitch length to the various types of fabric. The general rule is the
thicker the fabric to be sewn, the longer the stitch length has to be.
•
In the case of thin, non-stretch fabrics, e.g. organza = length 2.
•
In the case of normal, non-stretch fabrics, e.g. non-stretch cotton =
length 3.
•
In the case of thicker, non-stretch fabrics, e.g. denim = length 4–5.
Use a W6 Super Stretch 90 (HAx1SP) needle for stretch and non-stretch fabrics,
or a W6 Super Stretch 75 (HAx1SP) needle for thinner fabrics.
