If you store the machine for more than 30 days:
1. Ensure that the key switch is in the O

2. Unplug the 48V battery disconnect; refer to

3. Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the 12V battery; refer to
Installing the 12V System Battery (Model 04580) (page 5–105)

4. Charge the batteries fully before storage; refer to
(Model 04580) (page 5–110)

5. Store the battery in the appropriate environment:
• Recommended storage temperatures should be between 10°C to 25°C
(50°F and 77°F).
• Storage at elevated temperatures will result in accelerated rates of self
discharge.
• If temperatures are expected to drop well below freezing for an extended
period, remove the batteries from the machine and store the batteries
in a warmer environment.
