Lead all exhaust gases away from the GasLab Q2, using vent lines refer to chapter 5.3.5. The
main breather must vent to the ambient atmosphere. Gas will only escape from the breather if
there is a fault. Look for appropriate measures for the disposal of effluent gas. This can be
achieved by a suitable exhaust / vent tube to a safe area or appropriate ventilation of the location.
The breather outlet doesn’t have to be connected because in normal
operation there will be no gas coming out of it.
When it is connected i.e. to vent to a safe area when Q2 is installed inside a
building. This vent line shall be protected against dirt and rain and vent
atmospherically.
The following specifications apply to a vent tubing:
-
The allowable pressure drop should be less than 20mbar (2kPa) at a flow of 7.5l/min.
This corresponds to a straight
smooth
tube with minimum inside diameter of 8 mm
and length of 40 m. Fittings or curves will reduce the allowable length. Other dia-
meters and lengths, which may increase the pressure drop, are only possible after
consulting Elster GmbH.
-
The breather venting line connected to the internal thread of the breather must remain
separated from other vent lines.(In case of any doubt please contact Elster GmbH)
DO NOT CONNECT THE BREATHER VENT LINE TO ANY OTHER EXISTING
VENT LINE!
The loosening or untightening of the breather by unauthorized persons is
prohibited!
When working on the gas lines always ensure adequate ventilation and
protect yourself from gases containing aggressive or toxic components.
Environmental Specifications (see chapter 10.1) must be maintained.
Otherwise, an additional conditioning cabinet is to be used.
Only use the device in a potentially corrosive area following consultation
with and approval by Elster GmbH.
Depending on the location of use and ambient conditions, the device can get hot or cold
surfaces.
This may occur, for example, as a result of self-heating at 55 °C ambient temperature.
Direct contact with hot or cold surfaces can cause burns and frostbite. In
case of doubt, the device should be operated via the remote operation
panel.
