SICAM MMU 7KG9663, Device Manual
E50417-H1040-C514-A3, Edition 01.2016
Redundancy According to IEC 60870-5-104
SICAM MMU supports a redundancy group with a maximum of 2 logical connections.
Both logical connections have the same network parameters (IP address, network mask) and are parameter-
ized in the device (see chapter 7.3.4.2.1).
Furthermore, both logical connections can have the same as well as different TCP port numbers. The default
setting of the port numbers is 2404, but can be edited (see table 7-10).
Redundancy with 2 Equally Privileged Connections
A maximum of 2 IEC 60870-5-104 masters have simultaneous and equally privileged access to SICAM MMU.
Both masters:
•
Can read data: for example, general interrogations or counter interrogations
•
Can write data: commands are executed in the order of their reception, regardless of which master initiat-
ed the commands. The IEC 60870-5-104 masters autonomously coordinate the write access.
•
Receive event indications if data objects have been changed
Both connections have the same network parameters (IP address, network mask) and are parameterized in
the device (see chapter 7.3.4.2.1).
Furthermore, both logical connections can have the same as well as different TCP port numbers. The default
setting of the port numbers is 2404, but can be edited (see table 7-10).
One of the 2 connections is es-
tablished and active, the
second connection is also start-
ed.
The current active connection is
cut and the second connection is
established and activated.
Both connections are active.
Which connection allows a
general interrogation to be per-
formed?
Only the started connection
Both connections simultaneously
(the general interrogations are proc-
essed in the order in which they
were received, regardless of the
connection)
Which connection allows meas-
ured-value events, indication
events, and metered-value
events to be transmitted?
Only the started connection
Both connections simultaneously
Which connection can be used
for controlling?
Only the started connection
Both connections simultaneously
(Requires a coordination between
the master devices. The device
processes the control requests in
the order of their reception.)
