To install a port expansion card:

Perform the system shutdown procedure described in Section 10.1, “Shutting Down
the System for Upgrading”, on page 10-1.

Hold the card so that the labeled side faces toward you.

Slide the card into the expansion card slot at the top of Office PhoneMail right side (see
Figure 10-1).

The card must be within the card guides, flush with the internal board.

Plug a second modular cable into a second modular digital station connector on the
Office PhoneMail unit.

Caution

Office PhoneMail must be turned off during installation of the expansion card. If you
insert the card into the system while it is operating, Office PhoneMail will either ig-
nore the card or immediately stop working.
