Changing the Feature Access Code for MWI
The MWI feature access code defines the dialing sequence for the Office PhoneMail to invoke
the send or delete message function on the Hicom CS. Since the feature access code is con-
figurable on the Hicom, the Office PhoneMail must maintain a corresponding parameter.
The default sequence for sending messages is *68; and the default sequence for deleting mes-
sages is #68.
When entering new access codes, it is not necessary to enter the * and # characters. These
characters are automatically entered by the system as the leading characters of the access
code.
13 is the number for the OMN retry interval parameter.
The default value for this parameter is 15 minutes between retry attempts if Office
PhoneMail dials the OMN destination and reaches a busy signal. You can change
this value to a range between 15 and 30 minutes.
Note that Office PhoneMail will retry OMN only in the event that the programmed
destination number is busy. If the system attempts to reach a subscriber at the spec-
ified OMN number and does not reach a busy signal or an answer at that number,
then OMN is automatically cancelled for that message.
Caution
If these parameters do not correspond, MWI will not operate properly.
