Plug one end of the modular cable into the Office PhoneMail unit. You must use the digital
station connector nearest the power plug on the Office PhoneMail unit.

Plug the other end of the cable into the Hicom CS. You must use a digital station connector
associated with the extensions assigned to the voicemail group set in Section 5.1, “Config-
uring Your Hicom System”, on page 5-1.

Plug a second modular cable into the second modular digital station connector on the Of-
fice PhoneMail unit.

Plug the other end of the second modular cable into the Hicom CS. Use any digital station
connector located on the
same Hicom digital card to which you connected the first modular
cable.
For more information on expanding your Office PhoneMail system capacities, refer to Chapter
10, “Expanding Your System.”
If you have not purchased the optional port-expansion card available with your Office
PhoneMail system, you have finished connecting the Office PhoneMail unit to the Hi-
com.
If you have chosen to upgrade your Office PhoneMail system from two to four ports,
proceed with Steps 3 and 4.
Once the system is turned on, if you disconnect either of these modular cables, the
Hicom Office PhoneMail will restart.
