Ontrac Installation Manual
Options: Rain Gauge (350740)
Begin Installation:
1. To mount on an Ontrac Post: Mount the rain gauge on the base plate next to the antenna.
2. Remove the cover of the Ontrac Post assembly.
3. Disconnect the battery cable from the RTU Board.
4. Using the strain relief provided route the wire harness into the Ontrac unit.
5. To wire in the Rain Gauge:
A. Wire into Digital Input 4
a. Connect the black wire from the rain gauge to the black terminal.
b. Connect the white wire from rain gauge to the white terminal.
6. Reconnect the RTU board to the battery cable.
7. Hardware installation is complete.
8. If installing on an existing unit proceed to the next step (if not go back to installation instructions).
9. BEFORE LEAVING THE FIELD, COMPLETE VERIFICATION PROCEDURE BELOW
VERIFICATION:
1. Check digital input 4, see if the white terminal reads 5 VDC in normal state and 0 VDC when bucket is
tipped.
2. Use internet access /field_test and radio number to verify communication http://admin.ontracbyreinke.com
and input status.
3. Compare the raw number status to the input voltage (keeping in mind 5 VDC is on and 0 VDC is off)
4. If Installing on an existing unit call Reintech at 1-888-872-2360 to complete setup.
5. If questions or concerns arise contact technical support.
6. Verification is complete.
