If the POSITION LED is not blinking then location data is not
being received by the Touch I/O Board. Make sure the GPS Board
is powered (LCD on) and check all wiring connections.
Troubleshooting Communication Errors:
There are three serial communication links in the GPS CDW System.
1) GPS Receiver to EOS Board.
2) EOS Board to MCP Board.
3) MCP Board to Touch I/O.
All three communication links must be operating for the system to function properly.
The table below
shows normal and fault system indications.
Problem:
The position reported by Touch does not change.
Verify that the Position LED on the Reinke Touch I/O Board is flashing. The Position LED indicates
incoming data from the GPS CDW System.
The LCD should always display a message when 120vac board power is
present. If 120vac is present between the pink or purple and white and the
LCD is blank, check the contrast potentiometer R7 located to the left of the
LCD. Adjust as required for best display.
Press S1 to reset the LCD
Contrast
Problem:
LCD display is blank with System running.
The Data In LED (D15) on the End of System Board
indicates incoming data from the GPS Receiver.
This LED normally remains off at power up until the
GPS Receiver has acquired enough satellite
information to determine an accurate position, less
than 3 minutes under normal conditions.
Data In LED
Verify the position data in the MCP CDW Board.
Use the setup button to page through the menu to the position data. This
displays the position and distance from base point reported by the GPS
CDW.
