Ontrac Installation Manual
Options: Theft Sensor (350736)
Installation:
1. Remove enclosure from the post unit or lid from the Ontrac tower box.
2. Disconnect the span cable neutral in the main control panel. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance
between the span cable neutral and ground. The ohmmeter should indicate an open circuit. Electrical codes
require that ground and neutral be bonded only at the main control panel. If there is some connection
between ground and neutral out on the system, the cable theft sensor will not function properly. If the
ohmmeter indicates that there is not an open circuit between the ground and disconnected span cable neutral,
find the point(s) at which they are electrically connected and correct the situation.
3. Reconnect the span cable neutral in the main control panel.
4. The Ontrac unit needs to be mounted at the last or next-to-last tower.
5. Place theft sensor tube in tower box.
6. Using both strain reliefs, install the theft sensor harness from the tower box to the Ontrac unit.
7. To wire the Theft Sensor into system Tower Box
a. Connect black wire to ground/green.
b. Connect purple wire to neutral/white.
8. To wire the Theft Sensor into the RTU Board
a. Wire into digital Input 1
Note: If digital input is already wired to monitor direction, the direction monitoring wires will have to
be disconnected. Either remove the direction monitor wires completely or connect them to digital input
3. If the direction wires are connected to digital input 3, it will not be possible to use the pressure switch
option.
b. Connect the black wire from wire harness to the black terminal.
c. Connect the brown wire from wire harness to the white terminal.
d. Connect the red wire from wire harness to the red terminal.
9. Install winter solar kit per kit instructions.
10. Hardware install is complete.
11. Go back to installation instructions on the unit you are installing.
12. BEFORE LEAVING THE FIELD, COMPLETE VERIFICATION PROCEDURE BELOW
VERIFICATION:
1. Use internet access
/field_test and radio number to verify communication http://admin.ontracbyreinke.com
and input status.
2. To test the installation, return to the main control panel and disconnect the span cable neutral. After one
minute the Ontrac unit should initiate a report to indicate that cable disconnection has occurred.
3. Compare the raw number status to input voltage (keep in mind 5 VDC is on and 0 VDC is off).
4. Check digital input 1, see if the white terminal on input 1 reads 5 VDC = no theft and 0 VDC = theft
5. Reconnect the span cable neutral in the main control panel. Unlock the main disconnect.
6. If questions or concerns arise contact technical support.
7. Call Reintech at 1-888-872-2360 to complete setup.
