OmniSeed™ Viper Pro™ Installation & Operation Manual
Optional Ultrasonic Bin Level Sensors
The Raven OmniSeed system features optional ultrasonic bin level sensors which automatically detect the
level of product remaining in each bin. The bin sensor for each of the products must be calibrated to accurately
gauge the amount of product in the bin.
Note:
The air cart bins must be empty to calibrate the bin level sensors.
1.
Touch within the
Product Control
area at the bottom of the main screen.
2.
Make sure that
Node 1
is selected on the CAN Controller Status screen and touch within the second data
display area, or the Product Control Settings area, on the CAN Controller Status screen.
3.
Touch the
Calibrate
button displayed below the current bin level value and follow the on-screen
instructions.
4.
Repeat the above process for any remaining nodes or product control channels as necessary.
5.
Touch
OK
to save the entered value or proceed to the
section on page 48 to continue with the
initial set up process.
Optional Bin Pressure Sensor
An optional bin pressure sensor may be installed to monitor the air cart bin pressures during operation. The
Raven OmniSeed system monitors the bin pressure while seeding to help ensure that product in each bin is
metering properly. The field computer is capable of displaying an on-screen alert if any of the bin pressure
sensors detect pressure in the bin falls below a set threshold.
Note:
The bin pressure alarm must be activated to display an alert when the bin pressure drops below
the set threshold. Refer to the Feature Settings Area for Granular Products section on page 144
for more information on enabling the bin pressure alarm.
If bin pressure sensors are not used, make sure that the bin pressure alarm is disabled.
To calibrate the bin pressure sensor:
1.
Turn off any active fans on the air seeder.
2.
Touch the Product Control indicator on the Viper Pro main screen.
