Appendix

Data exchange with the PC

The routes and the current firmware version (update) are
loaded from the PC into the VIBSCANNER.

The VIBSCANNER transmits processed routes and multi-
mode measurement data to the PC.

How to transmit measurement data to the PC:
• Switch VIBSCANNER on.

• Connect VIBSCANNER to the PC. Use the serial PC cable

(VIB 5.430-2) and, if required, the USB to serial cable
adapter (VIB 5.448) provided.

• Start the data transfer in OMNITREND (see OMNI-

TREND Online Help for details).

How to update the VIBSCANNER firmware:

• Switch VIBSCANNER off.

• Connect the battery charger so that the VIBSCANNER is

supplied with power during the update.

• Start the ‘VIBSCANNER UpdateTool’ program.

The update program is contained in the ‘VIBSCANNER’
section of the PRÜFTECHNIK CD. It is installed under
the following directory on the PC by default:

C:/Programs/Pruftechnik/VSCUpdateTool/VSCUpdateTool.exe

• Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.


