This appendix lists some of the VU-ACD/100 processes (executables) that appear in the System Process
Log File and provides a brief description of each process.  Interpreting the Log File requires an under-
standing of UNIX process architecture.

Process

Description

adhfed

Schedule Port parser.  Only runs on systems equipped with the following options:
Adherence To Schedule and Schedule Port Interface (to an external Force
Management System).

attfed

Provides the interface to MIS link(s) from a Lucent Technologies 5ESS Centrex
ACD switch.

auto_bkup

Automatic nightly system backup program.

bobfred

A simulator that mimics the output of the dmsfed process; used for test purposes
only.

daquis

Data Acquisition file.  Processes data from a Centrex ACD switch MIS data
stream for use by the Real-Time Display and External Displays.

disp

The user interface for real-time screens.  A disp process exists for each terminal.

dmsfed

DMS-100 switch Packet Assembler/Disassembler (PAD) interface [front end].

dms_init

Request initialization data from the DMS-100 switch.

edisp

External Display update process.

fedin

Accepts fedlog data from a fedout process output by another VU-ACD/100 host
[InterLink option].

fedout

Outputs fedlog data to a fedin process on another VU-ACD/100 host [InterLink
option].

lan_serv

Supports communication with LAN (Local Area Network) remote terminals.

link_mux

Combines output from multiple dmsfed processes to form a composite Centrex
ACD MIS data stream (MultiLink configurations).

lmexec

Outputs load management commands from the user interface to the Centrex
ACD switch and maintains the load management configuration files.  Also proces-
ses initialization data received from the MIS data stream.

lmfed1

Replacement for dmsfed when using the bobfred DMS simulator.

mediadir

Generates a directory from backup media.

mkfms

File Management System data driver.

prd

Report printing process.  A prd process exists for each print job currently printing.

prsched

Checks for print files in the spool directory and sends the file to the report printing
process (prd).

purge

Data Management program which removes report data from the system disk.

req_init

Scheduler for DMS-100 reinitialization request.

retrieve

Data Management program that retrieves data from backup media.

rollup

Rolls up data contained in daily files to monthly files.
