VU-ACD™/100 Maintenance Guide – Host/DOS
Troubleshooting
4.2
DMS-100 Datafill
The Northern Telecom DMS-100 is a program driven Central Office switch. Its operational charac-
teristics are derived from entries made in a series of data tables contained in the switching generic
software. Completing the entries required to activate various switch functions is referred to as
“datafilling” the switch.
For ACD MIS operation the DMS-100 must be loaded with the appropriate Batch Change Supplement
(BCS) generic software and a series of ACD MIS feature packages. Tables are then filled with the data
required to configure a specific Call Center site. ACD Configuration parameters include:
•
Directory Numbers
•
Pool and Subpool Numbers (and passwords)
•
ACD Group/Subgroup Assignments
•
Agent/Supervisor Position Numbers
The datafill process requires access to a Maintenance & Administration Position (MAP) terminal. From
the MAP terminal the engineer can access the various switch tables and complete the datafill process.
For ACD MIS applications datafill is required for several office parameters and the Multi-Protocol
Controller (MPC) data link. In DMS-100 parlance, the VU-ACD/100 is referred to as a downstream
processor. The MPC data link utilizes Network Operations Protocol (NOP) to establish and maintain an
X.25 packet connection to the Packet Assembler/Disassembler (PAD) associated with the VU-ACD/100
host.
?
DMS-100 datafill changes to Directory Numbers, ACD Groups and agent posi-
tions will impact data already stored on the VU-ACD/100 system.
In MultiLink configurations, up to twenty data links to several DMS-100 switches may be supplying call
event data. Each data link must be properly datafilled for ACD MIS operation. All PADs must be
correctly programmed for X.25 NOP operation on data links.
4.2.1
Office Parameters Required For ACD MIS
Table 4.2 lists the office parameters that must be datafilled for the data link, the associated table and
section number, and the associated form. The descriptions for each office parameter include:
•
Purpose of the office parameter
•
Provisioning rules for the office parameter
•
Activation of the office parameter.
Refer to Northern Telecom Office Parameters Reference Manual, 297-1001-455, for further information
about each office parameter.
