Changing Numeral and Character String Display
This section describes the procedure(s) for changing the contents of the numer-
al and character string memory tables which are allocated to the host and also
the procedure for changing the display on the PT by operation at the host.
For the procedure for displaying the contents of the numeral and character string
memory tables at the PT, refer to
2-8 Numeral Display (page 130) and 2-9 Char
-
acter String Display (page 138).
3-5-1 Changing Numeric Values and Character Strings
The PT provides the following methods for changing the contents in the numeral
and character string memory tables.
•
Changing the contents of the allocated word of a numeral memory table
•
Changing the contents of the allocated word of a character string memory table
•
Copying the contents by operation at the PT status control area
•
Pressing a touch switch which has the Copy Setting function
Reference:
It is possible to input the data to numeral memory tables and character string
memory tables by operation at the PT using the numeral setting function and the
character string setting function.
For details of this operation, refer to
3-7 Input of Numeric V
alues and Character
Strings (page 318).
Changing the Contents of the Allocated Word of a Numeral Memory Table
By allocating a numeral table to a word in the host, it is easy to reflect changes
made at the word in the host to the numeral memory table.
With this method, however, only the contents of the allocated words of memory
tables being used for display on the current screen of the PT can be read out.
Contents of an allocated word which is not related to the display are not read out.
