Managing miniSD Memory Cards
Use these functions for miniSD memory card management tasks such as formatting.
Formatting a miniSD memory card
Format the miniSD memory card so that it can be used on the FOMA terminal.
● Formatting a miniSD memory card erases all the data stored on the card. Check that no important data will be lost before
formatting a miniSD memory card.
● A miniSD memory card cannot be formatted if it is write-protected or faulty.

● “Import&Overwrite” and “Import & OW all” replace the imported data with the FOMA terminal data. Please check that important data is not
registered before overwriting.
● If the FOMA terminal runs out of memory during card reading, data importing is interrupted. The data imported so far is stored.
● When “Import & add all” or “Import & add” is used and the group numbers and group names stored on the miniSD memory card do not match those
stored on the FOMA terminal, the phonebook is added to group 00.
● If you import 1 item of received mail when the Inbox is full, the oldest item of read and unprotected mail is overwritten.
● If you import 1 item of sent mail when the Outbox is full, the oldest item of unprotected mail is overwritten.
● When you import a large file (an image or movie larger than 10,000 bytes) that is attached to incoming or outgoing mail, the large file is stored in the
Data box and linked to the mail. If there is no further storage space available in the Data box, the attached file is deleted when the mail is stored.
● When you use “Import & add all”, the following data is not imported:
・ Schedules in which alarm time and Repeat setting is the same.
・ Bookmarks with the same URL as existing bookmarks
● You cannot use “Import & add” of the Phonebook “Import&overwrite” or “Import & OW all” when “Keypad dial lock” or “Restrict dialing” is set.
● When there is a large number of files saved on the miniSD memory card, reading and writing the data may take some time.
● During importing, the FOMA terminal status is effectively “out of area”, so you cannot make or receive calls, use i-mode or use data communication
(Except when importing still images or movies).
Always format miniSD memory cards on the FOMA terminal. miniSD memory cards formatted on other mobile
phones or on PC may not be usable on the FOMA terminal.
