Security Codes Used on the FOMA terminal
To make the FOMA terminal more convenient and secure, security codes are needed for some functions. In addition
to the security codes for the operation of various terminals, there are network security codes used for accessing
network services and codes such as your i-mode password. Take care to use the appropriate access code when
using your FOMA terminal.
FOMA Terminal Security Code
The security code is set to
“
0000” (four numerical zeros) in the default setting, but you can freely change it if desired.

●
If you forget your security code, you are required to bring your FOMA terminal*, your FOMA card (UIM), and your
identification (such as a driver's license) to the sales representative of DoCoMo shop to confirm that you were the
subscribed person.
*: If the phone is bought by other than the subscriber, the request may not be accepted.
Network security code
The security code is a 4 digit number that you specify when you apply to use DoCoMo e-sites or use various network
services and is set at the time of subscription.
●
If you forget the network security code, contact the “Inquiries” on the back cover of this Manual. DoCoMo shop and other
contacts will deal procedures after confirming that you are the subscribed person by checking documents such as a
driver's license. You can also apply for e-sites from your PC if you have a “user ID” and “Password”.
* See the back cover of this manual for detail regarding “DoCoMo e-site”.
PIN1 code, PIN2 code
The two security codes (PIN1 code and PIN2 code) can be set in the FOMA card (UIM).
When you subscribe, “0000” (four numerical zeros) is set for these codes, but you can change the numbers freely if desired.
The PIN1 code is a 4- to 8-digit number (code) to confirm the user each time the FOMA card (UIM) is inserted into the
FOMA terminal or each time the FOMA terminal is turned on to avoid the use of the third party without permission. Entering
the PIN1 code allows you to make/receive calls and operate your terminal.
The PIN2 code is a 4- to 8-digit security code that is required when using the user certificate, applying the issuance or
resetting the call duration.

i-mode password
Your i-mode password is a 4-digit password that is required for operations such as adding and removing My Menu entries
and subscribing to or unsubscribing from the message services and other i-mode fee-based services.
The i-mode password is set to “0000” (four numerical zeros) when you subscribe, but the numbers can freely be changed if
desired. (In addition to this, some service providers set their own passwords.)
●
If you forget your i-mode password, note that you are required to bring your identification (such as a driver’s license) to
the sales representative of DoCoMo shop to confirm that you were the subscribed person.
Note
●
To prevent improper use of your terminal, change your security code, PIN1 and PIN2 codes and i-mode password to the numbers of your choice
after subscription. Make a separate record of security codes that were set in order not to forget.
●
Do not use numbers like the last 4 digits of your phone number that other people can easily guess.
