Changing the Photography Settings
Use the procedures described in this section to specify settings such as the zoom, auto timer and the image quality.
Using the zoom
Using the zoom (Tele/Wide) allows you to adjust the image being shot to the desired size.

The zoom for shooting still images can be adjusted from 1

to
approx. 5

in 8 steps on the rear camera. However, the
maximum zooming magnification for 1M (1160
×
870) is approx. 2
×
and approx. 3.6
×
for VGA (640
×
480). The front
camera zoom can be adjusted from 1
×
to roughly 2
×
in 2 steps. Note that the zoom cannot be used with CIF (352
×
288).

You can also adjust the zoom setting while shooting a movie.
● The FOMA terminal’s zoom is digital.

Using the light
When you are shooting in situations where there is insufficient light, such as indoors, you can use the FOMA
terminal’s light to make the subject brighter.
●
If you turn on the light and do not take any pictures for around 30 seconds, the light automatically turns off.
● With the use of the function menu for the still shooting and movie shooting screens, you can turn on or off the light.

The zoom is set to “1

” when the Camera function starts up and reverts to “1
