10 Troubleshooting
Error Possible
Reason
Correction
Connection
Check connection between sensor cable and termi-
nal strip. Check connection boxes, connections for
sensor cable extension for correct connection or
moisture.
Check sensor installation for correct installation and
adjustment / alignment.
Sensor
Check sufficient signal strength (I/O Menu). Apply
coupling paste to the sensors if required.
Transmitter
Call up error memory. J Depending on error mes-
sages take the respective measures (check cables,
plug and socket connections, sensor installation).
f >CPU Error< is indicated consult NIVUS service
personnel.
Investigate the moment of failure in menu RUN –
Trend.
Negative flow direction
Sensors shifted during connection?

Check individual path velocities.

Programming
Completely check the transmitter parameter set-
tings.
Connection
Check power supply connection.
Check power supply voltage.
Check switch position on connection board.
Power supply
Compare power supply (AC or DC) with transmitter
type.
Unauthorised manufacturer

Improper memory size?

maximum capacity

Card formatted on PC?

send card to NIVUS.
Connection
Check cable connection. Wiring on terminal strip
switched? Cables firmly connected to plugs (re-
tighten screws, pull at cable ends)? Insulation of
single wires unintentionally clamped in?
Display Error
Sensor >X<
Communication
Communication to DSP sensor evaluation disturbed.
Can be checked by pressing the I-key. DSP Sensor
should be indicated in the third line of the following
screen. Contact manufacturer service.
