TTL
Only available on the SB-400, SB-
600, SB-800, and SB-R200. With one
of these Speedlights mounted on the
camera, press the
Mode
button on the
back of the flash (if it has one) until
TTL BL
or
TTL
is displayed (that’s for
the SB-600 or SB-800, see “Summary
of TTL Flash Modes” on page <604>;
if you’re using an SB-R200, its mode
is controlled by the Master flash
controlling it, and if you’re using an
SB-400, it can only do TTL as
controlled from the camera. If Custom
Setting #E1 is set to allow it and
you’re using an SB-600, SB-800, or
SB-R200,
FP
may also appear to
indicate that shutter speeds higher
than 1/250 can be used, though flash
power will be reduced.
Auto Aperture
Available on the D300 only with the
SB-800. Press the
Mode
button on the
Speedlight until
ÊÊ
is displayed on
the flash unit’s LCD.
Automatic
Available on all Speedlights that
support Automatic flash (SB-24
through SB-28, for instance). Move
the Flash Mode switch on the
Speedlight to
A
(or
AUTO
), or press
the
Mode
button on the Speedlight
until
Ê
is displayed on the flash unit’s
LCD. You may need to manually
transfer the ISO setting and aperture to
the flash.
