camera does not continue to track focus while
you hold the button down, it only does a
single focus acquisition. This means that if you
need reacquire focus, you must press the
MENU
button and go back to step #9 or 10.
Also, if you’ve set the camera to Beep, it will
make a short noise when focus is achieved.

Press the shutter release fully to take a picture (or
pictures if you’ve selected a continuous setting in Step
8). Note that the camera will take a picture regardless
of whether the subject is in focus or not, regardless of
your other autofocus settings. Thus, it’s important that
you get focus correct in Step #12.
Personally, I use Live View rarely. The one thing that I have
found it very useful for is verifying white balance settings
