Red, green, and blue are each 120º away from each other, as
are cyan, yellow, and magenta. Normally you’ll see color
wheels drawn as continuous variations (there’s a range of
oranges between yellow and red, for example), but I’m
showing it this way for a reason I’ll get to in a minute. Grand
total, we can move the hue about 18º around the circle using
the controls on the D300; that’s about one-third of the way
between any of the two colors I show in the wheel, above.
Hue +3

Look
closely at the reds.
They’re redder. Also
note the yellows have
a bit of green to them.
Hue -3

Now the
reds are headed
magenta while the
yellows are trending
orange. The biggest
issue is that the blues
are going cyanish.
