Recording Method Selection (REC MODE)
While in the STOP mode, the recording method can be selected from the SYS MENU on the J-PAD3.
Select the optimal recording method for our photography from the four choices below. Recording can
be performed in the AUTO mode, LOOP mode, ALL BLOCKS mode (only with multi trigger recording) and
CONTINUOUS mode (only with multi trigger recording) for each recording method.
Normal Recording
[ NORMAL / NORMAL(A) / NORMAL(L) ]
Burst Recording
[ BURST / BURST(A) / BURST(L) ]
Multi Trigger Recording
[ MULTI(A) / MULTI(C) / MULTIS(A) / MULTIS(L) ]
Event Recording
[ EVENT / EVENT(A) / EVENT(L) ]
Please be aware that depending on the recording method, there may be cases when the trigger input
from the J-PAD3 does not function. Trigger input from external trigger signals works for all recording
methods. (Table 3-4)

Trigger input from the J-PAD3 does not work with burst recording.
△:
With event recording, the initial trigger input does not work from the J-PAD3 and the
external trigger input only works with the second and subsequent event trigger input.
3.2.14.1 AUTO Mode
The AUTO mode has a function that automatically performs memory segment switching when recording
stops and switching from the REC mode to the ARM mode. Continuous recording for each memory
segment. The STOP mode is accessed once recording to all of the memory segments has been completed.
Memory segments where recording has been completed are memory protected, and recording is
prohibited in AUTO mode. If the J-PAD3 is used to switch to the ARM mode, a warning message will be
displayed (Figure 3-29).
Figure 3-29 Memory Protected
Even if recording to all of the memory segments has not been completed, press STOP
to stop
recording. Depending on the camera mode when STOP
is pressed, the number of frames saved
before recording is stopped will vary.
If
STOP
is pressed during the ARM mode
If the custom setting for the trigger timing is +100%, recording stops when the same number of
frames is saved.
If
STOP
is pressed during the REC mode
Recording stops after saving from the frame where recording was started to the frame at the
instant STOP
was pressed.
