4. MCPMs
Other General Features
Main Source Connections
External main sources (that are not chosen during operation as squeeze sources) reach the frame
through two ports, designated A and B. The designations are not important and serve only to distin-
guish one port from the other. There are 2 ports because there are 2 buses, preset and program.
Each port comprises 6 input connectors and two router destinations. A connector is a BNC, a Phoe-
nix 3-pin STP, or a 3-pin STP cluster on a DB25. The
second
router destination is required only
when at least one external source’s audio is embedded and breakaway is possible for that source.
The
first
router destination (defined in the NV9000 configuration) provides video and audio on one
or more virtual
6
levels. There are potentially 5 levels.
This example shows hypothetical connections for one main source port:
If (1) any external main source’s audio is embedded and (2) the master control system will require
audio breakaway from any of those sources, you will need to connect a second router destination
and a second frame video input (in addition to the first).
Key Source Connections
External key sources reach the frame through 3 ports, designated 1, 2, and 3. The designations are
not important and serve only to distinguish one port from the other. There are 3 ports because there
are 3 keyers in the MCPM.
Each port comprises 2 video input connectors (BNC). One input is for video fill; the other is for the
key. If
all
your external keys are self-keys, you do not need to use the key input.
The router destinations (defined in the NV9000 configuration for the purpose of supplying a master
control system) provides the video on 1 or 2 virtual levels.
6. Refer to the NV9000 documentation for the definition of a “virtual” level.
