9 Transition control buttons
The transition control buttons include breakaway buttons, transition types, and transition rates,
by default. (The actual rates are configured in the current MCPM.) These buttons are config-
urable.
10 System control buttons
The system control buttons include 3 buttons: ‘Panel Lock’, ‘Automation Off’, and master
‘Fade to Black’ by default. These buttons are configurable.
11 Transition button.
The transition button displays the transition type (as a graphic) and the transition rate (in text).
‘Cut’ transitions involve no rate and therefore display no rate text.
The button is bright orange for non-pre-roll transitions. It is low-tally red and the word “Pre-
roll” appears on the button when a pre-roll transition is pending.
Pressing the transition button initiates a transition in the MCPM or MCE currently controlled
by the FECP. Operators can change the transition rate and type.
(See
Transitions
on page 58.)
FECP Connectors
At the rear of the FECP are 2 power connectors, one Ethernet connector, a USB port, a ‘CP aux’
connector, a GPI/alarm connector, and an audio metering input. (See Figure 6-11 on page 130.)
Power
There are 2 AC connectors, PS1 and PS2, for redundancy. You need not use both if you are not con-
cerned with redundancy.
Ethernet
The FECP has one RJ-45 Ethernet port. The FECP connects to the Ethernet switch of the master
control network.
It is on this network that the FECP communicates with MCPMs and with the configuration soft-
ware. You (or your system administrator) must provide a unique IP address for the FECP. Use the
