6. Control Panels
CECP
The aux delegate buttons control what the aux button row does. There are 6 aux delegate types:
• Aux A bus.
The operator can direct any of the main sources available to the MCE’s Aux A bus.
(actually whichever aux bus was configured to receive a source when the operator presses
the Aux A delegate).
• Aux B bus.
The operator can direct any of the main sources available to the MCE’s Aux B bus.
(actually whichever aux bus was configured to receive a source when the operator presses
the Aux B delegate).
• Preset Squeeze Background.
The operator can select any of the main sources available as the preset squeeze background
image.
• Preset Squeeze Image 2
The operator can select any of the main sources available as the preset squeeze image 2.
• Preview Squeeze Background.
The operator can select any of the main sources available as the preview squeeze
background image.
• Preview Squeeze Image 2.
The operator can select any of the main sources available as the preview squeeze image 2.
In all cases, the operator selects the source on the aux button row.
S
If a squeeze image is configured with an “internal black” background or an internal black
image 2, the background or image 2 is fixed (constant) and cannot be a main source.
9 Transition control buttons.
By default, the 8 transition control buttons include 5 transition types and 3 transition rates. (The
actual rates are configured in the current MCPM.) These buttons are configurable, however.
10 System control buttons.
The system control buttons are ‘Panel Lock’, ‘Auto Off’, and ‘FTB’, by default, but they can be
configured for other functions.
11 Transition button.
The transition button displays the transition type (as a graphic) and the transition rate (in text).
‘Cut’ transitions involve no rate and therefore display no rate text.
The button is bright orange for non-pre-roll transitions. It is low-tally red and the word “Pre-
roll” appears on the button when a pre-roll transition is pending.
Pressing the transition button initiates a transition in the MCPM or MCE currently controlled
by the CECP. Operators can change the transition rate and type.
(See
Transitions
on page 58.)
CECP Connectors
At the rear of the CECP are 2 power connectors, one Ethernet connector, a USB port, a ‘CP aux’
connector, a GPI/alarm connector, and an audio metering input. (See Figure 6-9 on page 124.)
