6. Control Panels
CFCP
7 Transition buttons
The transition buttons include 2 groups: transition type, transition rate, and a larger orange but-
ton that initiates transitions. There are 5 transition types: cut, V-fade, cross-fade, cut-fade, and
fade-cut. There are 3 transition rates: slow, medium, and fast. (The actual rates are configured
in the current MCPM.)
8 System button.
The system button is ‘Panel Lock’ by default, but it can be configured for some other function.
CFCP Connectors
At the rear of the CFCP are 2 power connectors, one Ethernet connector, a ‘CP aux’ connector, a
GPI/alarm connector, and a ground lug. (See Figure 6-5 on page 116.)
Power
There are 2 AC connectors, PS1 and PS2, for the sake of redundancy. You need not use both if you
are not concerned with redundancy. The internal power supply modules include fans.
Ethernet
The CFCP has one RJ-45 Ethernet port. The CFCP connects to the Ethernet switch on the master
control network.
It is on this network that the CFCP communicates with MCPMs and with the configuration soft-
ware. You (or your system administrator) must provide a unique IP address for the CFCP.
Without the IP address, the CFCP cannot communicate with either the MCPMs or the configuration
software. Use the Panel ID menu under the Panel Menu to set the IP address and IP subnet mask.
The default IP address is 192.168.7.100 and the subnet mask must always be 255.255.255.0.
GPI/Alarm
The CFCP has a DB25 connector that supports GPI inputs, GPI outputs, and alarms:
Refer to the GPI section in the
CFCP Operator’s Guide
for connection information. Also see
GPI/Alarms
on page 188.
CP Aux Connector
The CFCP has a DB15 connector to which you connect the optional TLA. See
Transition Lever
Arm
on page 148.
