5. MCEs

Summary

These are the front views of the 4 possible board configurations: 

Summary

An MCE provides all the functions of older MCPMs, and adds preview and aux buses. Develop-
ment of MCEs is virtually complete.

S

MCEs do not accept analog video input or analog audio input. 

The MCE is modular and can be assembled with only the cards necessary for you facility. The  min-
imal MCE is a core board with no DVEs. The maximal MCE has 3 cards, 8 DVEs, and 8 Dolby E 
cards.

Its backplane connectors are 1.0/2.3 coax connectors, each supporting 16 channels of embedded 
audio. There are no AES connectors except on the AXM board and those are DB25s.

Its diagnostic port (at the front of the core module) includes the top 3 pins of a Phoenix 6-pin con-
nector.
