Aux/Preview GUI
7 Transition control buttons
The transition buttons include breakaway buttons, transition types and transition rates, by deaf-
ult. The buttons are configurable.
8 System buttons.
The system buttons include 3 buttons: ‘Panel Lock’, ‘Automation Off’, and master ‘Fade to
Black’ by default. The buttons are configurable.
9 Transition button.
The transition button displays the transition type (as a graphic) and the transition rate (in text).
‘Cut’ transitions involve no rate and therefore display no rate text.
The button is bright orange for non-pre-roll transitions. It is low-tally red and the word “Pre-
roll” appears on the button when a pre-roll transition is pending.
Pressing the transition button initiates a transition in the MCPM or MCE currently controlled
by the CECP GUI. Operators can change the transition rate and type.
(See
Transitions
on page 58.)
Aux/Preview GUI
The Aux/Preview GUI is not a separate control panel, but a configuration option of the CECP GUI.
The Aux/Preview GUI has a subset of the features of the CECP GUI. Specifically, its program and
preset buttons and transition button are disabled. It does have preview and aux buttons. It has a
reduced set of menus and a reduced set of configurable button functions. Its monitor/meter section
is also disabled.
Like the other GUIs, runs on a PC connected to the master control network and supports “next gen-
eration” master control features. Its features are a subset of the CECP GUI. The GUI can be oper-
ated either with a mouse on any PC or by finger pressure on a touchscreen PC.
S
Special handling is required to configure the Aux/Preview GUI. Refer to the
Aux/Preview GUI
User ’s Guide
.
S
The GUI window is 1280 × 966 pixels and requires a monitor at least that size to function.
(Although the window can be resized, doing so obscures important parts of the GUI.)
Arrayed on the front of the panel are 95 color-coded buttons and a menu with 8 associated knob
“proxies.” Clicking or touching a knob proxy causes a slider to be displayed which the operator can
use to adjust parameters. The knob proxies emulate the 8 menu knobs of the CECP.
Each button has 3 lines of text, 8 characters per line. Buttons are green, amber, red, blue, white, or
violet and off, low-tally, or high-tally. Buttons that are unused are just gray. Red generally indicates
an error condition. Buttons that are defined, but disabled momentarily, show dimmed text.
