Fault 1: The device cannot learn the MEP of the remote device.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
The MD and MA on the
devices are inconsistent.
Use the show ethernet cfm domain command on the MEP
and MIP devices to view whether the MD and MA on the
devices are consistent completely, including whether level, MD
domain name, instance name and vlan ID are consistent. If
not, modify them to be consistent.
The port that receives the
CFM packets does not
belong to instance vlan.
You can use the show vlan or show run port command to
view whether the port belongs to instance vlan. If not, add the
port to the VLAN.
MD is the inward direction,
the port that receives CFM is
configured with MEP ID or
MD is the outward direction,
and the port that receives
the CFM is not configured
with MEP ID.
Use the show etherner cfm domain and show run port
commands to view whether level does not match with the MEP
ID configured on the port. The inward MD of the MEP device
can only send CFM packets on the port that is not configured
with MEP ID, while the outward MD can only send CFM packets
on the port that is configured with MEP.
ethernet cfm is disabled on
the ports that send and
receive the packets.
By default, ethernet cfm is enabled on the port. You can use
the show run port command to view whether there is the no
ethernert cfm enable command on the port.
The cables between the
devices ate disconnected or
the ports are blocked and as
a result, the remote device
cannot be learned.
You can use the show port command to view whether the
connection between the devices is normal and whether the
ports are in up state. If the lines are normal, you can view
whether the ports are in block state, for example, be blocked
by MSTP and EIPS.
Fault 2: ping Ethernet cannot be executed.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
There is no destination
MPID of MAC ping or MAC
address information on the
device.
Use the show ethernet cfm maintenance-points remote
command to view whether there is remote MPID information
on the device. If not, ping Ethernet can be executed only after
learning the remote MPID information.
