Common Super-Vlan
Troubleshooting
Fault 1: The Super-Vlan with one ID cannot be created.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
Super-VLAN ID cannot be
the same as the ID of the
existing common VLAN and
Sub-VLAN.
If there is the prompt information “SUPER-VLAN: failed, the
specified super VLAN ID has been used by other VLAN” when
creating Super-Vlan, it indicates that there is common vlan or
sub vlan with the same ID. To create the super-vlan with the
ID, you need to delete the common vlan or sub vlan first.
Fault 2: One VLAN cannot be added to Super-vlan as the sub-vlan.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
The vlan is associated with
L3 interface.
If there is the following prompt information when adding sub-
vlan:
Switch(config-super-vlan5)#sub 10
Failed, part or all of specified VLANs has already been
associated to interface!
It indicates that the vlan is associated with L3 interface cannot
serve as sub-vlan. The vlan can be added only after deleting
the association of the vlan and the L3 interface.
The vlan ID is the ID of one
super-vlan.
If there is the following prompt information when adding sub-
vlan:
Switch(config-super-vlan4)#sub-vlan 5
Failed, part or all of specified VLANs ID have been used by
super VLAN ID!
It indicates that the ID is the ID of one super-vlan and cannot
serves as sub vlan. To add the sub vlan, you need to delete the
super-vlan first.
The vlan is the sub-vlan of
other super-vlan.
If there is the following prompt information when adding
sub-vlan:
Switch(config-super-vlan5)#sub-vlan 3
Failed, part or all of specified VLANs have already been
aggregated in other super VLAN!
It indicates that the vlan is added to other super-vlan as sub-
vlan. One sub-vlan can only be added to one Super-VLAN.
The super-vlan has 8 sub-
vlans and cannot be added
with more sub-vlans.
One super-vlan can be added with 8 sub-vlans at most. When
there is the following prompt information:
Switch(config-super-vlan5)#sub-vlan 51
failed, the maximum of sub VLANs in the same super Vlan
is 8
It indicates that the number of the added suv-vlans exceeds 8
and you cannot add more.
Fault 3: Different sub-vlans in one super-vlan cannot perform the L3
communication.
