The RIP routing table contains the following routes: direct-connected
routes covered by the network, RIP routes learned from neighbors, but
other route information imported into the switch is not included. Therefore,
the routing table is only a sub-set advertised to the neighbor route by the
local switch. We can use the show command to check whether the switch
and the neighbor switch are interacted.

debug ip rip events:
use the command to learn the RIP switching process
and exceptional events. For example, the route update receiving and
sending; check whether the authentication is correct, plain text
authentication or MD5 authentication.

Use the show ip rip interface command to check the interface
table
Solution:
RIP v1/v2 network does not support sub-net and ultra
network. Only the classful network ID can be configured.
Therefore, you should ensure that the network ID is correct,
for example, if an ultra-network ID is configured, the switch
interface cannot be added to the RIP interface table.
Fault 2: The interface is added to the interface table, but the opposite
route cannot be received.

How to find out the cause:
Use the show run command to check the configuration or use the
debug ip rip events command to check the debug information. You
can determine the version according to 2d16h: RIP: ignored version
1 (illegal version).
