Fault 2: The OAM neighbor flaps.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
The interval of sending hello
packets configured on the
two parties does not match
with the timeout.
If the hello packets of OAM are not received within the hello
timeout, the neighbor becomes down. Therefore, the interval
of sending the hello packets and the timeout should be set
reasonably and consistent at the two parties.
The link fails.
Check whether the device connection is normal and whether
the connection becomes flexible.
Fault 3: The OAM loopback test function cannot be used.

Whether the OAM neighbor
is up
When the neighbor is not up, the loopback test cannot be
performed.
Whether the OAM mode is
active
The party whose OAM mode is passive cannot initiate the
loopback test actively. The loopback test needs to be initiated
by the party whose OAM mode is active.
One party of the connection
disables the loopback test
function.
View the OAM neighbor information; view whether the two
parties both support the loopback test; view whether the party
that does not support loopback test disables the loopback test.
Delete the related configuration from the port that disables the
loopback test function.
The port of one party of the
connection is the destination
port of the port mirror
session.
View the OAM neighbor information; view whether the two
parties both support the loopback test; view whether the port
that does not support the loopback test is the destination port
of the port mirror session. If yes, delete the mirror session or
modify the destination port to other port.
The loopback test finds that
there is serious packet loss.
Check whether the interface connection is normal. If lots of
packets are lost, it indicates that there is something wrong with
the OAM connection.
Fault 4: The link check function cannot find the error.

Whether the OAM neighbor
is up
The OAM link monitoring can take effect only when the
neighbor status is up. If the neighbor cannot be set up, solve
the neighbor problem according to the fault.
