OAM Troubleshooting
This chapter describes the basic idea of analyzing the OAM module faults,
as well as the common used method and commands of removing the OAM
faults.
Basic Idea of OAM
Troubleshooting
1.
Check the network environment.
Check whether there is broadcast storm in the network environment
because of loop and whether the switch is impacted by lots of packets and
cannot process OAM protocol packets.
2.
Check the configuration and parameter setting
Check whether the configuration and parameter setting are reasonable.
Common OAM Troubleshooting
Fault 1: The OAM neighbor cannot be set up.
Possible Reasons
Judging Methods and Solutions
The switch is impacted by
the other packets and
cannot process the OAM
protocol packets.
Check the receiving and sending of the packets on the port and
disconnect the network that generates the attack.
The OAM mode is passive.
At least one side of the two parties of the OAM connection
must be active. If the two parties are passive, you need to
modify the configuration of one party or two parties.
The connection between
devices is cut off.
You can use the command to view whether the connection
between the devices is normal and whether the ports are in the
up state.
