Remove plug 1, set boom control lever to DOWN and wait
until oil flows continuously (until bubbles cease).
CAUTION
WHEN SELECTING THE ABOVE METHOD, WATCH OUT FOR SPURTING OIL AND PREPARE A PROTEC-
TIVE COVER AND OIL PAN TO PREVENT THE AREA FROM BEING POLLUTED BY OIL.)

Run the engine at half throttle speed.
q
Set the boom control lever to DOWN (at full stroke) and keep it at this position for approximately 2 minutes.
Then, move the boom up and down several times.

Air purging of boom lock valve.
q
Replace plug 1.
REMARK
Before replacing plug 1, stop the engine and release residual pressure in the piping, while monitoring oil tempera-
ture.
q
Loosen the hexagonal socket headed plug (indicated in figure 1 for paragraph 5 above), using an Allen
wrench.
q
Run the engine at half throttle speed.
q
Set the boom control lever to DOWN to purge air from the plug.
q
Raise and lower the boom several times until oil continuously come out (no bubbles emerge).
q
When air purging ends, tighten the plug.

Re connection.
q
Reconnect the boom PPC hoses of the control valve so that there is no oil leakage.
REMARK
Before executing this work, stop the engine and release residual pressure in the piping, while monitoring oil tem-
perature.
