AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RANGE FOR OPERATION
3
q
The recommended ambient temperature range for operation is -20
o
C to +45
o
C.
q
When operating in ambients below 0
o
C, refer to ""COLD WEATHER OPERATION (PAGE 3-196)"" for detail of
precautions.
AFTER STARTING ENGINE
3
WARNING
q
To stop the engine in emergencies or when the actua-
tion of the engine is abnormal or there is any other
trouble, turn the key in the starting switch to the OFF
position.
q
Do not carry out operations or operate the levers or
pedal suddenly while the hydraulic oil is at low temper-
ature. Always carry out the warm-up operation for the
hydraulic equipment until the hydraulic oil tempera-
ture monitor displays the correct temperature.
(When the hydraulic oil temperature is low, the low
temperature display shown on the right is given.
(A) Display when temperature is correct: Monitor back-
ground (C) is blue
(B) Display when temperature is low: Monitor back-
ground (C) is white)
q
If the warm-up operation for the hydraulic equipment
is not carried out thoroughly, and the machine is
moved, the reaction of the control levers and pedals
will be slow and the movement may not be what the
operator intended. Always warm up the hydraulic
equipment. In particular, in cold areas, always warm
up the hydraulic equipment thoroughly.
There are two types of warm-up operation: warm up the engine and warm up the hydraulic equipment. In addition,
depending on the environment, the method of carrying out the warm-up operation may differ, so carry out the
warm-up operation according to the items given in the appropriate section.
(When only the engine is warmed up, the hydraulic equipment is not warmed up, so always carry out the warm-up
operation for the hydraulic equipment separately from the warm-up operation for the engine. Warm up the hydrau-
lic equipment thoroughly ensures that the hydraulic oil is warmed up and that warm hydraulic oil circulates in all
the control circuits.)
