Configuring STS-1
RTUs
The following parameters appear in the RTU configuration screen for
STS-1 test cards:
RX Level
Receive signal level:
BRG
(Bridge),
TRM
(Terminate), or
DSX
(DSX Monitor).
Timing Source
Select the appropriate timing source for the test card transmitters. The selec-
tion applies to both RTUs. If the Idle condition is set for
LOCAL LOOPBACK
and an idle condition occurs, the timing source defaults to
RECOVERED
.
Slip Clock Ref
Reference clock for timing slips measurements. Possible values are as fol-
lows:
INT
(internal clock),
EXT
(external clock), or
RCVD
(received t1).
Talk/Listen
Port
Port used for listening to a VF test on a local telephone.
DCS TP/TG/TAD
AID
The DCS test port, test group, test access digroup or AID number that is con-
nected to the RTU. If the RTU is not configured for DCS testing, the field dis-
plays
N/A
.
Test Access
Paths
Identifies available TAPs for DS0 testing; cannot be changed.
Test Port
Modes
Indicates how the TAPs are used:
DYN
(dynamic),
DDS
, or
VF
.
