Removing the heim joint

Condition

The shock absorber has been demounted.

Clamp shock absorber in a bench vise using soft jaws.

–

Remove the collar bushing of the heim joint with a punch.

–

Turn the shock absorber around and remove the second heim joint collar bushing
with a punch.

Remove seal ring

on both sides.

Press the heim joint against a lock ring using the special tool.
